The theme:
"With twin girls on the way, we figured we'd have a lot of pink
clothing and blankets (we were right) and could incorporate other
colors into the room," says Amber. "We opted for a modern theme, with
shapes like squares, lines, and circles."
The project:
"We painted the walls white, and taped off the bottom portion to do the
stripes," says Amber. "I worked at a school and had access to a
photocopier, so I copied the fabric I liked onto a transparency. And I
borrowed an overhead projector to project the daisies onto the walls.
We wanted to leave the two shorter walls in the room a solid color so
we would have a place to hang things without them getting lost in the
daisies. To prepare for twins we bought two cribs, chests, bouncies, activity
mats, and swings. They 'share' the glider, dresser, closet, changing
table, and exersaucer. My sister-in-law worked at the store where we
bought some furniture, so we got a really good deal."
The budget:
About $2,120.
