The theme:
"Our mission in the nursery was to create a space with little girl
personality that was comforting and inspiring," says Nicole. "This room
had to be fit for our French-Italian princess!"
The project:
"To give this castle in the sky more sparkle, Rhett installed the focal
point of the space: a French-inspired crystal chandelier adorned with
light-pink crystal drops," says Nicole. "It's Ava's favorite thing --
she just stares at it and smiles! Hanging above the glider is a piece
of draped organza, with sparkling, dangling beads to make the space
feel enchanted. Inside the fabric is a shoe mobile for her to enjoy
while being rocked to sleep. I am a shoe fanatic and have already
bought Ava three dozen shoes! The crib's coverlet is from Pottery Barn Kids and has different-size
bright, vivacious flowers; the special accent pillows are from Bombay
Kids. The drapes are probably the most sentimental to our family
because they are from the tablecloths that were handmade by my aunt and
used at our wedding reception. We were able to do most of the work ourselves but one thing we left to
the professionals was the custom closet-changing area. We ripped off
the old closet doors and Grandpa Randy paid for the installation."
The budget:
The total project was about $1,400.
