re: Ah Goo Baby Plush Pad Giveaway!

When my son was first born we were cursed with 3 weeks of diaper blow outs. Every diaper we tried leaked all over him, us, his clothes and blankets, and worst of all our new bed and the guest bed. I finally decided to try size 1 rather than newborn diapers and that finally did the trick.

re: Ah Goo Baby Plush Pad Giveaway!

I thought I had things under control with my first child, but my second one is a boy. The pee situation was crazy. Every time I had a diaper to change, he peed on me or himself! I think we're finally past that at 14 months but now he's so squirmy, I don't want to change him on the changing table. So the Ah Goo Plush Pad would be nice for floor usage.

re: Ah Goo Baby Plush Pad Giveaway!

I remember the first diaper I changed - it was my nephew. No one actually told me how to do it and just assumed I would know what to do. He peed everywhere and started crawling away onto my grandma's carpet after getting a knee in his poop. It was a mess! Unfortunately, it didn't stop anyone from asking me to change his diaper again.

re: Ah Goo Baby Plush Pad Giveaway!

One afternoon my mother decided to keep my 2 month old son for a few hours. She kept diapers and wipes at her house so I just packed 1 diaper in his bag, just in case. When I got him back later, I decided to run to the grocery store to pick up a few things. I parked in the parking lot and when I picked him up, I realized he had poop running down his leg and all in his car seat. So I layed papertowels on the seat and cleaned him and his car seat up and when I went to get a fresh diaper, I realized I didn't have one! I had to keep his dirty diaper on him, clean him up the best I could and go inside and open a pack of diapers. He was naked as well because it had gotten all over his clothes! I finally got inside and got to the bathroom with a new diaper but he was freezing! I'll never go anywhere without extras again!

re: Ah Goo Baby Plush Pad Giveaway!

We are enjoying our first born -- a precious baby boy.  I knew I was in trouble when it comes to diaper changes the second day in the hospital.  My brother and his girlfriend came to visit us and to see the new bundle of joy.  I was so happy to see my brother, but not at all excited that his girlfriend with whom I do not get along tagged along.  Shortly after they arrived, it was time for my sweet little boy to have a diaper change.  I was pretty proud of myself because I had experienced no mishaps with diaper changes in the 24 plus hours since he arrived, and I had heard the horror stories of changing little boys' diapers.  My brother and his girlfriend were standing directly over my son's head as I got down to business, and before I knew what was happening, a perfectly arched stream of pee went right over his head and directly onto my brother's girlfriend.  Not a drop touched my son!  I was laughing so hard that I couldn't even see straight, and I didn't get him covered up until he was already done.  I couldn't have picked a better person for him to pee on, though.  Although I have gotten much better in the 9 months he has been in my life, there are some occasions where he still gets the best of me, especially with how much he likes to wiggle and squirm now.  I have heard rave reviews about the Ah Goo Plush Pad, and would love to give it a try.  I thnk the machine washable and water-repellant fabric would come in very handy around my little one.

re: Ah Goo Baby Plush Pad Giveaway!

We recently took my two week old son on his first public outing, out for breakfast with Grandpa and Grandma. He had eaten soon before we left and we knew by the time we got to the restaurant he would need a diaper change. In the public restroom, I found he'd had a blowout all over his clothes, and the sling I was carrying him in. While on the changing table, he proceeded to shoot out a whole bunch of poo, all over the wall by the changing station. After getting that cleaned up, I put on the new diaper and was in the process of dressing him when his diaper started leaking all over the new outfit, new clothes...and mommy. The best part was, he being such a new baby, there were about five women in the bathroom watching me change him!

re: Ah Goo Baby Plush Pad Giveaway!

I thought I had seen everything when it came to diaper changes, that is until changing my friends daughter. She had just woken up from a nap and was playing around in her room while I got the shades up and all that good stuff. I noticed two little dark spots on the floor, but didn't really think anything of them. I was getting ready to get a diaper and wipes for her change and her clothes (she slept in her jammies). As soon as I picked her up, I realized I was in for a treat. Her diaper was so full of poop, it had fallen out the sides! Those mysterious spots on the floor were little splotches of poop. It was unlike anything I had ever seen! It took a whole lot of wipes and lots of cleaning before she was fresh as a daisy again! She was one and a half at the time and when my friend came home she said she had forgotten to mention her daughter had recently had a few explosive diapers! I am expecting our first baby in January and can't wait to see what the little one has in store for us! :)

re: Ah Goo Baby Plush Pad Giveaway!

I was changing my 4 week old's diaper at 4 AM.  She hadn't been too gassy for a change so it had been a great night.  Well... that all changed quickly!  Out of nowhere she turns beet red, grunts and groand like an old man and suddenly I was hit in the face and chest with poop!  I kept thinking thank goodness my mouth was closed!!  It got on my face, pj top, duvet cover of my bed and the floor.  I had no idea poo could fly so far out of her little bottom.  Needless to say I make sure to keep my mouth closed every time I change her!

re: Ah Goo Baby Plush Pad Giveaway!

When my daughter was first born, she would poop every day at the same time.  I knew she would poop, but her diaper always exploded.  It was always so bad, it would go up her back and front.  Came to the point, I would keep off her clothes everytime.

re: Ah Goo Baby Plush Pad Giveaway!

We were at the airport, Anna's first trip on a plane.  We were already stressed out with all the stuff we had to lug around...stroller, diaper bag, carseat, 3 suitcases, computer bag, the list goes on.  We finally made it to the check-in line and I just happen to look down at my beautiful little baby sitting peacefully in her stroller only to see poop coming out both sides of her diaper!  She was literally sitting in a pile of poop!  I pulled out of the line while my husband dragged all of our luggage through the line himself.  I had to strip her down, totally change her clothes, and clean out the poop that was in every crevice of her stroller.  I can only imagine what the on-lookers were thinking "I'm sure glad that's not me!"  We made our flight and Anna was a wonderful traveler.  We're just glad she didn't wait and have that blowout on our laps on the plane!  Could you imagine?!  Yuck!

re: Ah Goo Baby Plush Pad Giveaway!

At first when we found out we were having a girl I thought yay no pee shooting at me! Well that was true. My daughter is now almost 5 months and thank goodness no pee has somehow shot out at my face... but... she does still suprise my husband or I with random puddles in between the switching of the diapers. I think our worst luck was when she was in the hospital for jaundis we weren't allowed to hold her unless it was diaper or breastfeeding time. My husband being the great daddy that he is decided to change her while I rested. All of a sudden I hear "OMG ABBY GET OVER HERE NOW!!!!" Being a mother for only 4 days at that point the worst was going through my head thinking of anything that could possibly be wrong. Turns out Kayleigh had shot poop from the little crib onto the wall it was atleast 3 feet away. Not only did she do it once but after we cleaned her .. AGAIN .. laughing thinking it was over it wasn't .. ONCE MORE .. she shot her poop on the wall. Her daddy was very proud lol!

re: Ah Goo Baby Plush Pad Giveaway!

My worst disaster with my first daughter was probably when she was just a few months old. After her bath I was changing her diaper on her changing table and  usually I shield her with a diaper just in case. This time however she was too quick and had explosive poo that shot straight across the room and hit the wall and everything in between. That was a fun clean up. Also we are constantly on the move and I always try to have a diaper pad/blanket handy so I don't have to change diapers on the not so lovely areas that are usually provided. With our second due in Feb. I definitely am looking for something as convenient as the Ah Goo Baby Plush Pad!

re: Ah Goo Baby Plush Pad Giveaway!

It seems that the most unexpected blow-outs happen in the middle of the night, as soon as I get the diaper off, my little girl poops and pees all over the changing table!  Then it's a big clean-up and changing of diaper, pj's, changing pad.  The funniest thing is she smiles and giggles after unloading all over the changing table! :)  It's like she was saving it up for just that moment when I'm half asleep!

re: Ah Goo Baby Plush Pad Giveaway!

About a year ago, My sister and I went to get our nails done. She brought her two kids (I didn't have kids at the time). I was done but she was still getting her nails done.  She could tell that her 6 month old had just pooped.  Since she was in the middle of getting her fill-ins, she asked if I could change it.  I was nauseous cuz I was starting to get sick but I agreed and took him out to her car (the bathroom was full and there was no where else to change him).  I laid out the changing pad in the back seat and set off to change him. I got the new diaper ready and a handful of wipes so I could change it quick!! I open the old diaper to find it FULL! I was trying to wipe, -I’d wipe and toss the wipe out the car behind me into the parking lot (i'll pick them up later). Wipe after wipe, the poop is going everywhere... my breakfast is starting to come up.. I manage to only dry heave a couple times, eyes watering.... next time it actually comes up a bit, I manage to swallow. (still wiping and cleaning mind you), then it come up - a lot- so i'm holding the vomit in my mouth trying not to puke on my nephew.  With my hand over my mouth, i'm looking around for somewhere to "dispose" of the vomit. I see a drain grate right under my sis's back tires so I jump over, let it out, and jump back - my nephew is giggling at me. I'm trying to clean my hands off so I can finish changing him. Changed his clothes, got the new diaper on and cleaned up the 15 wipes I threw behind me.  Brought my nephew back in to my sis and said, "you owe me one! that was the nastiest diaper I've EVER seen!" I don't think I've ever seen her laugh so hard.

re: Ah Goo Baby Plush Pad Giveaway!

I've got two stories  that come to mind. 1) Spencer was about a day old and we were changing his diaper in his bed in the hospital. At that point it seems like the babies are pooping every 15 minutes - so you have to time it right. And you may have guessed we didn't - his little poop shot out and went all over his little bed - it was like someone stepping on a tube of tooth paste! The other story was a bit more recent - it was 6 am and we just changed his diaper but must not have position little boy parts correctly because when we were playing with him in our bed and turned him around pee just poured out of his diaper into our bed! Yuck - thank goodness for mattress pads!

re: Ah Goo Baby Plush Pad Giveaway!

Thankfully we haven't had any super gross diaper change stories yet. (Knock on wood!). But the few mishaps that come to mind were the result of using the wrong diaper. We're a Pampers family. We just like using the brand and it's what's worked best for our daughter, Ella. But as other new moms, we received a bunch of samples from other brands and because we also like to be thrifty, we use the samples. I really liked Luvs when I first tried it, especially for the fact that it kept the urine smell in check. That's good, right?! Not really... because when you can't smell the pee or the poop, you forget to change your baby. What we ended up with was a vert full and very messy diaper, not to mention a very unhappy baby. Suffice to say, we're back to our Pampers.

re: Ah Goo Baby Plush Pad Giveaway!

My daughter was just 6 weeks old, and my brother-in-law was in from Florida to visit our family.  We picked him up from the airport and stopped at a restaurant to grab a quick bite.  About 20 minutes later, Addie needed fed, and at the time I was nursing.  Every first time mother can relate to nursing in public the first few times.  I was a wreck! My cover kept falling and the baby was not fitting well in the bench seat.  I started to feel something wet and assumed the baby was not latching well until I looked down and realized she had an EXPLOSIVE diaper.  There was poop all over her outfit (it soaked through her clothes) and all down my shirt.  I quickly whisked her away to the bathroom and layed her down on the baby changing station.  I got her undressed and she started to scream because she was cold.  I wiped her down, but felt bad that she was screaming so loudly that I picked her up to calm her down.  You will never believe this, but as I was comforting my child, she peed all over me.  Now I was COVERED in baby poop and pee.  Needless to say we got our check and promptly left.  We ordered take out for a while thereafter!

re: Ah Goo Baby Plush Pad Giveaway!

When my daughter Ava was about 4 weeks old, I was breastfeeding her when all of a sudden she started pooping. It went everywhere! I was covered, it went right up her back out the diaper, all over! My husband had just returned to work from paternity leave the week prior and I didn't think he would believe me, so before changing the both of us,  I photographed it for evidence. Disgusting, but some very wonderful blackmail material for the future ;^)

re: Ah Goo Baby Plush Pad Giveaway!

My niece was 2 days old and I decided to help my sister out by changing her diaper.  No sooner had I gotten her diaper off, my darling niece began to poop.  Not only did it get all over me and her but it also got all over the changing table, the wall and the pile of clean diapers beneath.  Needless to say it took a while for me to build up the courage to change her again.  Now I am having my own little girl and I am actually looking forward to funny little situations and stories to share.

re: Ah Goo Baby Plush Pad Giveaway!

As we were returning home from my son's baptism, my sister was sitting in the backseat with him and started yelling, "Roll down the windows, I am going to throw up!"  He had diarrhea all over his white baptism outfit, all over the car seat, and was screaming.  Needless to say, we discarded his baptismal outfit immediately.

re: Ah Goo Baby Plush Pad Giveaway!

About a month and a half ago I was at my friend's yearly cookout with my then 3 month old daughter, Avary.  Just as everyone sat down to eat my sweet little girl let rip!  It was so loud I turned beet red and apologized for the foul noise, trying to laugh it off...  It was about a second later that the girl to my right screamed "Oh my god!" and I realized that the situation was a lot worse than just some loud gas.  My daughter was in a cute little pair of pants and tank top (not a onesie).  She had projectile pooped right up and out the back of her diaper, all over my chair, the ground, me, the girl to my right and even a bit on the table!  I was mortified!  My mom raced over to help and scooped Avary up off my lap and brought her over to a place in the grass.  The poop was everywhere!  My sister came running over with a plastic grocery store bag which they put around my little girl's lower half before carrying her inside to clean her up.  Everyone was laughing so hard!  I was absolutely mortified but looking back it was the funniest thing ever!  We're still talking about it and I'm sure it's one story that will be told for years to come!

re: Ah Goo Baby Plush Pad Giveaway!

We went to our first month check with the pediatrician. I dressed my daughter up nice & cute, wanting to show her off & kind of show the pediatrician that we were being good parents so far. They doctor had us strip down our daughter to her diaper. As the doctor examined her, she pointed out that not only did our daughter have a blow out, but I put the diaper on backwards! Talk about embarrassing!

re: Ah Goo Baby Plush Pad Giveaway!

DS is 8 months old and is so good at not peeing on me. I'd gotten to the point where I took it for granted and of course, at the worst time I was changing his diaper not at all being careful and sure enough, he peed all over me. DH was standing there expecting me to freak out but I just started laughing. I knew it was high time.

re: Ah Goo Baby Plush Pad Giveaway!

As I arrived at my hubby's work to bring him his lunch, I realized my 10 month old had a smelly diaper.  I decided to change him before going into the store.  Half way through the poopy change, Kaleb decided to roll over and start crawling in the back of the SUV.  First, crawling in the poop, and then falling in it and getting it all over his onesie.  Reaching for more wipes, I realized I was completly out!  His bottom wasn't completly cleaned, and my hands and his body were a mess! I took off his shirt and used it to wipe off what I could and put a new diaper on him.  I had no change of clothes, so I took my naked, but diapered only baby into the pharmacy to surprise my husband.  Of course, everyone wanted to know why he was naked and why I was so flustered.  And of course, everyone still wanted to hold him.  After leaving the store, my hubby called and said that Kaleb needed a bath when I got home.  Why you ask?  It seems that when my husband was holding him, there must have been some left over poo somewhere, and it got on his clothes!  That is all that my husband could smell for the rest of his work day.  Let's just hope none of the customers could smell it!

re: Ah Goo Baby Plush Pad Giveaway!

When my DS was 3 months old I took him to a local movie theater that welcomes mothers and their babies.  During the movie I felt some small explosions against my leg and when they seemed to stop I changed him right there in the theater (we happen to be the only ones there that day). Toward the end of the movie I started feeling more explosions against my leg so I decided to take his pants off in an effort to keep them clean.  So at this point he's sitting on my lap in his onsie and seems quite happy.  All of his previous explosions had been out of the back of the diaper and up his back.  Since his back seemed dry I thought we were in the clear. So the movie ends, at this point he's still not complaining, the lights come up and I see that the front of his onsie is completely covered in poop.  So I quickly rush out of the theater with this half naked, poop covered, baby and rush into the ladies room to change him.  Well needless to say there was no changing table and I had to change him on the sink counter and practially bathe him with baby wipes.  As I'm starting to change him I think it's important to add a little old lady, who clearly had problems with her vision and olfactory glands, walks over and starts telling me how cute DS is and actually tries to touch his belly, which is covered in poop.  I quickly yell "NOOOO," she jumps back looking startled and I explain to her that it's just b/c he's covered in poop.

Ah well, there was the time we went to the show and my daugher pooped so much it came our the NECK of her sleeper.   I had to give her a bath in the bathroom sink at the theatre.  Blech!

re: Ah Goo Baby Plush Pad Giveaway!

We traveling a long distance out of state and my son had a diaper explosion of epic proportions. There was so much poop I had to take off the car seat cover and his outfit and stop to wash it somewhere while my husband spent a half an hour cleaning him up using up all the wipes we had. It was such a disaster. We had to deal with that odor the rest of the way home even though we had cleaned everything. I had to rewash everything as soon as we got home even though I was dead tired.

re: Ah Goo Baby Plush Pad Giveaway!

We were at my SIL's house for dinner. I used her bed to change my baby and my baby farted as he pooped and his poo landed all over my face, my shirt and arm not to mention my SIL's bed. It was a disaster but I laughed after about it.

re: Ah Goo Baby Plush Pad Giveaway!

One day I took my 6 week old son to the library for storytime  He loved it, but the bathroom wasn't a very nice place to change a diaper.  So I decided to change him in the car.  Since he was so little and the car's seats were angled I thought I would change his just a little wet diaper in my lap before heading to the store.  I had everything ready so it would be quick, just before I put on the new diaper he started peeing everywhere, on the car seat, the console, my purse, me, his clothes, etc. As I was busy wiping everything a bit and recovering, all of a sudden he pooped!  A lot of yellow runny poop, that ran off the pad onto the seat (where I was sitting).  After using all of our wipes and changing his clothes, I realized that my pants were feeling a bit wet.  I was sitting in a puddle of poo!  Needless to say we did not go to the store that day.

re: Ah Goo Baby Plush Pad Giveaway!

Oh my - this one truly belongs to my mom.  During my son's first year, I worked at home a couple days a week, and my parents would watch him occasionally when I needed a hand.  For over three months solid, every time she was alone with my son, he'd have the nightmare blowout you only hear about.  It got to the point where she just started changing him in the kitchen sink so she could hose him off!!

re: Ah Goo Baby Plush Pad Giveaway!

Jack was about 1 month old and we were changing him on the living room floor.  The dog decided to "help out" .  He is a 12 year old, 10 pound white poodle named Peppy.

As soon as that diaper came off, Jack peed into the air, all over me, my husband, the floor, the new diaper and of course, the dog.  I ran to the bathroom and grabbed a towel and starting to wipe off everything, including the dog.  The dog was trying to lick the babies feet and then Jack had an explosive stool, all over the dog and my jeans.  Well the dog then freaked out and ran all over the house shaking off the stool.

Needless to say, I had to clean up stool all over the house and then we all had baths.

re: Ah Goo Baby Plush Pad Giveaway!

A few days after we brought our son home from the hospital he shot poo all over our bed!  I got up in the middle of the night to change him on our pack and play changer.  When I took his diaper off, I heard a loud rumble and then saw the spray.  He shot poo into the air, across the room, and all over our bed, including on my pillow.  He's very lucky he's so cute. :)

re: Ah Goo Baby Plush Pad Giveaway!

Just a few days ago my daughter needed a diaper change and i laid her down on the couch to do what i thought i become an expert in being that she was ten months and we had both gotten used to the routine. I had removed the soiled diaper when i realised that i had forgotten to keep a new diaper beside me. In my haste to get it done with because i was getting late for work, i did not wrap my soiled diaper properly before running into my bedroom to a get fresh one. By the time i got back i saw to my utmost horror, my baby with the already loose, heavily-packed-with-poo diaper, chewing with glee at the tapes!!! I have never been able to convince myself that that was all that got into her mouth. Ugghhh...! Here is a tip. NEVER doubt your baby's exploration abilities especially when changing diaper.

re: Ah Goo Baby Plush Pad Giveaway!

My daughter is EBF and poops only a few times a week-usually during church on Sunday! A few Sunday's ago she was sitting in her carseat and passed gas. Not only was it loud but it also smelled pretty bad. I tried to ignor the smell and figured it would disapate. Then she passed gas again. As I looked at her legs I realized that she just had a major blow out! For some reason I didn't bring her diaper bag into church with us. So I had to take her out to the car to change her. Poop was comingt out of the diaper and was oozing down her leg. It was such a mess. On the carseat, on her clothes, on her legs. Then I realized I didn't have an exta outfit! So I just changed the diaper and had a naked baby for the rest of the mass. Now I carry two changes of clothes! Just in case.

re: Ah Goo Baby Plush Pad Giveaway!

It was just last week that I had the nastiest, messiest diaper change that I've experienced in the 5.5 months I've had my son:

I knew that he needed a diaper change because I could smell it across the room (#2). I laid out his changing pad, his diaper, etc. and then laid him down and began to take his clothes off....then I realized it was a "blow out"!!  He has them often, no matter what size or brand of diaper we use, but this one was particularly bad. It came out of his left leg hole and covered the inside of his shorts. I tried to slide the shorts off and wipe off his legs before it got on the changing pad...that did not happen. It got on the changing pad, then he stuck his feet in it, then he rubbed his feet together and up his own legs, and finally started kicking me in the shins and putting his little gift on me also (keep in mind I was still in my work clothes). By the end, we both needed a changing...and I had to call my mom and husband to tell them both the story :)

re: Ah Goo Baby Plush Pad Giveaway!

The worst diaper I have had to change to date was on my daughter at about 6 weeks of age.  My girlfriend and I had gone to IKEA for the morning and I had just finished changing a wet diaper and BF her.  We left the nice large family restroom and made our way down to The MarketPlace Floor when I felt something brewing in her diaper.  I rushed to the single Unisex restroom to find the worst blow-out of in history.  It had made its wall up to her back to her shoulders.  Of course this  restroom didn't even have a changing station, so we had to use the floor to clean up the mess.  The sink was helpful to clean her off and after about 10 minutes of work she was ready to go again in a fresh diaper and new outfit!!

re: Ah Goo Baby Plush Pad Giveaway!

DS would always chooses to go as soon as he gets in the car seat.  I would call them poop emergencies and give them a rating.  Therefore, we always had to factor in a complete wash and changing into our departure schedule.  On those off occasions that it didn't happen, we were amazed with how early we could be.  Bow we use cloth, no worries :o)

re: Ah Goo Baby Plush Pad Giveaway!

We went to a church picnic this summer at the city park. DS had been teething that week and had had some pretty  nasty diapers to show for it. He had already pooped once that day so I thought all would be well and we packed up and went to the picnic. Halfway through the meal I smelled it. I got DS out of the stroller and saw that it had leaked out of his diaper and through his pants. It was disgusting and in front of everyone! There were no restrooms so I took him to a grassy area far away from everyone to change him. I laid down a blanket and stripped DS down while he tried his best to wiggle free. When I let go of him to wrap the diaper bomb up and took off, naked mind you, and ran through the whole group of church people. Everyone was laughing and yelling, "Get some clothes on that kid!"

It's funny now but when it happened all I wanted to do was crawl in a hole and die!

re: Ah Goo Baby Plush Pad Giveaway!

I was a young teenager, and it was the first time I was ever asked to babysit. It was a church function, and all of the parents were in the next room but I wanted to prove that I was mature enough. Well, the 1-year-old daughter of a woman I had never met before decided to test me... There was poop everywhere! Up the front, up the back... You get the picture. This was the first time I had to change a diaper without my mom sitting there, talking me through it and of course, the other girl that was there with me "couldn't handle it" and said she would be sick if she changed her.

Needless to say, I survived, and I have never had to change a diaper like that since. I know that will change when my little one is born in January. Maybe I "won't be able to handle it" and make my husband do it!

re: Ah Goo Baby Plush Pad Giveaway!

I still change my daughter in her crib which is soon to come to an end because at 6 months she's getting too big. When she was 8 weeks old I took her to church with my mom. After mass we realized she needed to be changed and of course there's no diaper changing station in any of the bathrooms. Wouldn't have been a big deal until we saw the poop coming through her onesie and realized this was going to be a complete overhaul. Thank goodness my mom was with me because it took two of us to get the onesie off without spreading more poop and she could take the diaper while I wiped and wiped. Wasn't a pro at the whole diaper thing yet...9 nieces/nephews but very few diapers. Needless to say I had to repack the daiper bag with wipes and 2 outfits after that outing. Just have to laugh through the whole thing.
