Let baby have fun in the tub with a variety of bath toys and a cup that baby can fill and empty with water!

The pink gift bucket is adorable!

re: American Terry Gift Bucket Giveaway Contest!

I have never had to get "through" bathtime because my daughter has always loved it. But some things that keep a smile on her face in the bath are books, toys, cups, and squirters. Don't be afraid to have fun with your child and get a little wet yourself. Be silly, sing songs, splash. My husband is the one who told me bathtime is suppose to be a fun time...I like the pink bucket.

I always sing and talk to her all through her bath time.  She also loves to hold her squirt toys.

re: American Terry Gift Bucket Giveaway Contest!

Getting through bath time is a breeze if you make it fun!! I blow lots of bubbles into the tub with my little girl and encourage her to pop them and she lots to draw and "color" the tub i got these bath crayons and she loves seeing the tub different colors and the water as well. We also play sink or float game with her bath toys shes only 1 but getting the hang of things! I also let her do things by herself its easier that way shes more willing to want to wash her hair and get clean. We sing " clean it clean it clean it" and she suds herself and like to be a big girl who can do it all by herself so it makes it easier and fun at the same time as learning!

re: American Terry Gift Bucket Giveaway Contest!

Using nontraditional bath toys like kitchen strainers, big spoons, measuring cups and other plastic items ensure my toddler has fun in the tub and mommy doesn't have to worry about mold.

re: American Terry Gift Bucket Giveaway Contest!

I let the kids pick out three special toys and then I let them put in the bubble bath. Their least favorite task is hair washing so we get that done first and then after they are all clean I let them play. This is what has worked for me for some time. Also a really cool toy is bath crayons they really get a kick out of them! *I really liked the idea of blowing bubbles thanks MegaMommy*

Being patient!  I also like to sing to my baby while giving him a bath.

re: American Terry Gift Bucket Giveaway Contest!

Be prepared before you begin!  Have everything within arms reach- washcloth, toys, shampoo, towel.  That way, you can enjoy the bath!  I love the pink bucket!!

re: American Terry Gift Bucket Giveaway Contest!

I agree with be patient.  Also, have a basket or container close by that contains all the things necessary (shampoo, soap, washrag) so you can get to these things and not have to take your eyes off baby.

re: American Terry Gift Bucket Giveaway Contest!

My five all have a different routine in the tub, which can be a bit complicated (not to mention a little wild!), so the simplest solution for my husband and me is to tag-team.  He gets them in their respective bathtubs, taking turns in two bathrooms.  As they're getting in, I'm getting out towels and pajamas.  As they get out, I help them dry off, get dressed, and dry the girls' hair.  They're all happy and clean before going to bed.  :)

re: American Terry Gift Bucket Giveaway Contest!

Sophie's only 5 months old, so we're still using the little bath sponge in the tub, but she loves splashing around. For me, I lay out the bath towel on the counter, lay her down to undress her, and then when I pick her up, I move the dirty clothes and diaper. That way, when she's all done, I pick her up and move her straight from the tub onto the open, clean towel. It means I never have to leave her alone in the tub to get the towel ready.

re: American Terry Gift Bucket Giveaway Contest!

I always put the towel in the dryer before I bathe the baby.  When I am ready to take the baby out of the bath, I have my husband grab the towel.  This way the baby does not get cold getting out of the bath.  DS always has a smile on his face being wrapped up in a nice hot towel.

re: American Terry Gift Bucket Giveaway Contest!

I think that is a great idea about putting the towel in the dryer while baby is bathing to make it nice and warm.  My little guy loves toys that suck up water b/c he then tries to suck the bathwater back out of them, it's hilarious.

re: American Terry Gift Bucket Giveaway Contest!

I hung a little fairy princess from the ceiling in the bathtub. That way when it is time to rinse DD's hair, she will look up at the fairy and I can rinse the suds out of her hair with no problem.

re: American Terry Gift Bucket Giveaway Contest!

My daughter and I co-bathe as our bath routine each night. I fill up our master bath tub with sudsy water, and we both wash away our day.  My DD loves to kick her legs as I support her back!

re: American Terry Gift Bucket Giveaway Contest!

My son is in love with trucks. So when he is not interested in bath time we make it a game and make him think that he "Trucks" really need a bath. He loves thinking he is helping "Clean" his toys. He picks out two trucks and they get to bathe with him.  Works every time. We have some very clean toys!

My daughter is 6 weeks old and I just bring her into the shower with me!  When she's all clean, I hand her off to my husband, and he gets her dressed up.

get everything ready before you get in the bathroom! and just have fun-if the baby sees you having fun, they'll like the bath too! we have a couple toys in the tub and also have fun splashing and singing. and don't push your luck-once they're done, get 'em out! :)

re: American Terry Gift Bucket Giveaway Contest!

Hanging a toy from the ceiling is a great idea - I just read that tip in a magazine the other day.   I always wash my daughter's body first, then let her play, then wash her hair right before it's time to get out.  That way she doesn't have to sit with wet hair.

re: American Terry Gift Bucket Giveaway Contest!

We turn the shower on hot for a couple minutes before bringing out baby in the bathroom.  This makes it all steamy and warm so he doesn't get cold.

re: American Terry Gift Bucket Giveaway Contest!

Great minds think alike : Daddy's on duty... Logan looks forward to their tubby time and bedtime routine.  When he was brand new, I'd take him into the tub with me. That way he was never too cold or too hot in the baby bathtub. I also would lay a warm washcloth over his body in the tub to keep him from getting chilly.

When things go bad, I pull out the bathtub crayons.  Guaranteed to get toddlers/preschoolers excited to be in the tub.  Then, put the kids to work at the end of the bath with a washcloth wiping off their artwork to tire them out for bed!

Our secret is keeping it fun -- who doesn't like splashing in the tub. We make it a fun, playful time, and shampooing just seems like part of the game.

re: American Terry Gift Bucket Giveaway Contest!

When my son went through a stage of hating baths I started taking them with him. I even nursed him in the tub! After several days of taking a bath in the comfort of mom's arms, he decided it was okay to take them by himself again.

re: American Terry Gift Bucket Giveaway Contest!

Timing is everything. I try to make sure my daughter isn't too exhausted before introducing a bath. It's more fun for everyone. I do it right after dinner so it's a routine she can count on. Some nights we skip it if it looks like her mood is headed to the "danger zone," while other nights she'll take a longer bath when she's in a playful state of mind.

Always make water warm and soft.  I always talk with my daughter and my husband is there to comfort her also.  She seems to like taking a bath and having the both of us talking to her asking about her day at the daycare provider's house.   And also keep bathtime short and sweet!!!

re: American Terry Gift Bucket Giveaway Contest!

We LOVE bathtime... actually the first 6-7 months we usually took a bath together.. it really relaxed him and it was fun. He always cried when I tried to put him in that stupid baby tub so I just started putting him on my legs to bathe him at first and he would coo and giggle. Now that is he really mobile and sitting well he usually does his baths alone now but I think our months of family baths really paid off as he can't wait to get in the tub now!

Make it fun!  don't think you have to scrub every inch every night.  wash what you can, let water do the rest.  Make it a happy together time.

My baby loves the bath. The hardest part is getting her out and dried off without her throwing a fit. I've found if I let her hold her rubber ducky while I towel her off, she's much, much happier, and so am I!
