re: Miracle Blanket Giveaway Contest

Well sadly I don't have a horror story to tell to win these blankets because my daughter is the best sleeper thanks to being swaddled in them.

re: Miracle Blanket Giveaway Contest

My oldest was on a heart monito for several months after birth, and so many times he would wiggle and squirm so much that his leads would come off, and the alarm would blare!! This blanket would have helped kept him still and the monitor secured!!

re: Miracle Blanket Giveaway Contest

My husband was out of town at the time, and my daughter wasn't sleeping very well.  But it was actually an odor that woke me up.  My dog had diarrhea all over our bedroom floor next to the bed (thank goodness for hardwoods, but it was still putrid).  I ran out of the room to take her outside, and she proceeded to have diarrhea again on our rug downstairs.  I got her outside, when baby started crying.  The whole house smells vile, I'm about to vomit, and I have a house to clean up, 2 sick dogs to deal with and a crying baby.  It was a long night.  FYI - even though your dogs are eating up the watermelon rinds you are feeding them, you might pay the consequences later.

re: Miracle Blanket Giveaway Contest

The first night my daughter came home from the hospital she refused to sleep for over 6 hours.  She cried and cried.  She would only stop if I held her and I was so tired that I was afraid to have her in bed with me.  Her dad had to go to work the next morning at 4:30 and was unable to help me.  I walked and rocked for hours crying myself because I couldn't get my baby to sleep.  It was the worst night ever!! She finally went to sleep when my husband left for work because I put her on his side of the bed surrounded by pillows and put my hand on her tummy.  We finally got a couple of hours of sleep this way.

re: Miracle Blanket Giveaway Contest

When my daughter had a cold, she couldn't sleep at night. Her nose was stuffed and every time we tried to clean it she would cry like I am killing her. She is use to sleeping with a pacifier at night so she had no way of breathing since her nose is stuffed and mouth is covered with a pacifier. We both barely slept though the night. Thankfully someone told me to use humidifier and also rub vicks on her which was very helpful.

re: Miracle Blanket Giveaway Contest

Well, a few weeks after we brought Emily home, she woke up in the middle of the night.  I took her and sat with her on the couch in our bedroom and reached up into her little sleep sack to check her diaper and came back with a hand full of poop!  I had NO idea so much poop could come from such a tiny person!!  After cleaning and changing my poor little poop-covered sweetpea, I nursed her a little and rocked her back to sleep.  As I was walking back to her bassinet by our bed to lay her back down so that I could get more (much-needed) sleep, she projectile vomited!  I had NO idea that so much vomit could come out of such a tiny person!!  It was all over her, all over me, all over the carpet!  Needless to say, I had to wake up my husband to help me clean up the mess , clean Emily up, and get her calmed down and back to sleep...  This all took place, probably around 1:30 in the morning and my husband had to get up for work about 3:30 in the morning - he had gone to bed around 11 p.m., as he was helping me with the baby - I felt so bad for him, him AND our little one!  I will NEVER forget our poo-filled, vomit-filled night of horror!

re: Miracle Blanket Giveaway Contest

One weekend my husband was away at a retreat, and my 8-month-old son and I went to meet my parents for dinner. He was acting fine all day, except when we got out of Wal-mart later, he didn't want to eat. He had skipped a nap, so I thought he was just exhausted. He slept all the way home and didn't even want to eat once we got home. I gave him a bath, and he acted like he was ready for bed. So I laid him in his crib, he rolled over, and went to sleep sucking on his little thumb. I was downstairs not even 10 minutes and I heard my son, throwing up, gasping and coughing as it came out. I ran as fast as I could up our stairs to his room. He is on his back with this "omg mommy, I'm scared" look. He has thrown up all over himself, soaking his pjs and sheets. He also threw up down his wall all the way to the floor. I was so scared. I called the doctor, they said it was probably the flu so there was nothing I could do. I was so scared because I was all alone that night, so we slept in the recliner downstairs until my husband got home (who had also been very ill that weekend) close to midnight.

re: Miracle Blanket Giveaway Contest

It was our second night home...  Emilia had been sleeping between people's arms peacefully all day, and then the night hit!  She was a complete mess!  We went through 4 HOURS of her crying and seeming like she was in pain...  I found myself, at 3am, on the Internet trying to diagnose what could be making her so uncomfortable...  Was she hungry, was she in pain...  Wow!  We finally determined it was gas and I sent out my DH to get some Mylicon from Walgreens.  The receipt stamped with 3:30am is in her baby book...  Out shopping for gas relief at 3am...  That's love :)

I am currently pregnant with my first child...so excited!!!  Anyway, when I saw this contest I was like wow, what a great product to have when my little one comes into the world!  So, I don't have a horror story...yet :)  But, after reading everyone else's I figure I would throw my name in here for a chance to maybe win the blankie and avoid some newborn nightmares!

I don't have one particular night that sticks out to me, but my son somehow knows exactly the moment my head hits the pillow--all the way from his nursery--'cause that's exactly when he's cries again.

re: Miracle Blanket Giveaway Contest

We are pregnant with our third child.  My two oldest have been EASY, so no crazy horror stories...just the typical nights of throwing up and endless crying!  This thrid pregnancy though...I wake up EVERY night with horrible leg craps that seem to last FOREVER!  I never had them with my other pregnancies, so it still shocks me.  If I eat any more bananas (for the potassium), I'm going to turn into a banana!!!

re: Miracle Blanket Giveaway Contest

I don't really have a "horror" story. I managed to survive many nights with my daughter waking up every hour or two by watching Nick At Nite. Good thing I love old shows. One night, although, I was so tired, I fell asleep while trying to rock my daughter back to sleep. Guess it worked better on me. Oops.

re: Miracle Blanket Giveaway Contest

What a great idea.  Never saw this before, but I remember when my first son was born, the hosipital wrapped him up just like this and it did seem to please him.  When I first brought him home from the hosipital, the first few nights he cried and cried and than I started to cuddle him with a baby blanket and it did work.  This is a super idea.  I'd love to try it with our new baby to be.  I love the Green with the beige trim.  Thank again for this wonderful giveaway and please enter me.

re: Miracle Blanket Giveaway Contest

On February 10, 2008 at 5:00am is when it all began. I didn't know then that the sleep filled night I'd had was going to be the last. At 7:30am I was induced and at 12:50pm out came a beautiful little boy. I was exhausted from crying, pain, and fear. Although this was my second child in nine years, I still didn't know what to expect. After the delivery; in the hospital room I was given two hours in which I could eat and sleep. However, with all the visitors and calls there was no way and my body just felt like it couldn't sleep. The baby was wheeled in soon after and I was told to make sure to pick up the baby when he cried or feed/change him. Needless to say, I did NOT sleep a wink all night. Not even a sneak. The baby screamed, ate, and screamed some more. He didn't nap until we were in the car the next afternoon heading home. My eyes were burned, and I felt so tired that I didn't think I could hold up. Then came the visitors as soon as we were home and my husband had to go off to work so I was alone with my nine year old and a baby who would NOT sleep/nap. Several times I longed to sleep but each time I crept into our  bed his eyes would snap open and that was it. I was holding him breastfeeding and I was fearful that I would drop him, I started crying from pure exhaustion. I asked my comfy sleeping hubby to please take over for an hour or two so I could re-energize. My husband rocked and sang to our new little screamer for an hour before I had to get up to feed again. The next day needless to say was much better and in time I got used to my little one's schedule. Now, he is one mos. old and I still barely get sleep because where we live is also pretty cold and he seems more comfy sleeping with mom and dad but I prefer him to sleep in his bed. I think if we won the Miracle Blanket, it would be another miracle for us all. Especially my lil' lovebug. My favorite color is beige.

re: Miracle Blanket Giveaway Contest

Every night is a nightmare in our house! LOL!  My 5 year old still doesn't sleep through the night (gets up at least twice/night to ask for a drink, wants someone to walk him to the bathroom, or says he's scared and wants to snuggle mommy) and now I have a non sleeping 6 month old too!  By the time I get one to fall back asleep the other is awake!  Daddy sleeps RIGHT THROUGH it all!  I'm so tired!

re: Miracle Blanket Giveaway Contest

I had one the first night in the hospital after my son was born three weeks ago. I have a 2 1/2 year old who daddy  had to stay home with but I was ready to be there by myself. I'm a second time mommy, the hospital staff was only a push of the button away, how hard could it be? Besides, new babies sleep a lot, right? That night, the nurse in charge of my room was really snotty and rude. She made it seem like I was wasting her time everytime I'd call and ask for a drink. At 1 in the morning, my son started crying. I nursed him and he fell asleep but we woke up a few minutes later shrieking. I could tell he was straining so I thought he had gas. I kept trying and trying to calm him down and the only thing that would get him to sleep was the breast... so I did was every totally exhausted- just gave birth 24 hours ago mother would have done, I kept him on the boob.

After a while, he wasn't having it anymore and he just kept shrieking and crying. I kept getting little burps and farts out of him, but he was still gassy. I didn't want to call the nurse from- heck- so I kept walking back and forth with him in the room.At about 4 AM I gave in and pressed the call button and they sent a younger, pleasent nurse to help. She finally got him calmed down and somehow squeezed most of the gas out and he slept nicely the rest of the night, errr... morning! I think that was the worst night I've ever had as a mom! Luckly, he sleeps a lot better now that I realized the milk I drank that day is what made him so irritable and gassy.

If I win, I'd like Natural Beige.

re: Miracle Blanket Giveaway Contest

I was helping my sister with her new baby the first week she was out of the hospital. This was a nightmare! The baby never went to sleep, I was up all night with her. I tried everything from singing to swinging. We were both new at this and we had no idea what we were doing. We took turns singing to her, rocking her, feeding her, and even taking her for walks- Nothing seemed to work. Finally we decided to take a drive and she finally fell asleep in the carseat....we spent the night in the car....lol. We did not want to take a chance of waking her up! Now when we get together we look back and laugh at that night.

re: Miracle Blanket Giveaway Contest

Our daughter is only 5 days old and we thought it was normal she wasn't sleeping at all in the bassinet - only in someone's arms.  Turns out we realized she was freezing in the bassinet because it was against an outside wall of our house!  We feel like such bad parents, but now that we figured it out, hopefully she will sleep better.  Or maybe I need to go out and buy a miracle blanket...

re: Miracle Blanket Giveaway Contest

My nighttime horror story happened with my first son when he was still an infant. He woke up in the middle of the night one night crying and crying, so we assumed he was up to eat - as usual. He was taking a bottle at this point, as my milk had went away, so we got it ready and got him out to feed him. He absolutely refused the bottle and his crying turned to screaming. Maybe he's teething some more, we thought, but that wasn't it either. No matter what we did, he seemed to just scream more and more! He wouldn't take a paci, a bottle, anything. We were getting worried b/c he seemed to actually be in pain at this point. Everything we did seemed to make his screaming more intense. So, after we exhausted all that we knew to do, we went to the ER. We ended up discovering a large bruise inside of his mouth - which explained why he wouldn't eat - it hurt! We were shocked and didn't understand how it could happen. The dr asked if he bruised easily, but we weren't sure as he didn't move around a lot yet. The verdict: he had tried to pull himself up in his crib, slipped, and hit underneath his chin on the bars, resulting in a large bruise. We had spent hours trying to figure out what was wrong with our little one, and it seemed fairly obvious once we saw the bruise inside of his mouth, under his tongue, which did look pretty bad. We felt terrible that we hadn't figured it out and that he felt so bad. We managed to get him feeling better and finally eating, though. And we did notice that once he started moving around, he (like his mom!) bruises VERY easily (even though we are dark-skinned). Too bad it took a trip to the ER to think to watch for this! It was a rough night!!

Miracle blanket colors: blue with green trim, green with blue trim, blue, or blue camo (any of those are nice for our little guy on the way). :)

re: Miracle Blanket Giveaway Contest

I don't have a horror story and hopefully I won't have one to tell b/c I'll have a miracle blanket! :)

My son is due in June - it's our first child.  My best friend who you think would be full of advice for me has only given me one piece of advice - that was to buy a miracle blanket.  Her daugher is nine months old - they tried everything possible to keep her swaddled butshe was like super baby and broke out of everything.  The miracle blanket was the blanket that kept her tucked in.  If I won one - I'd pick Natural Beige.

My son had never been a great sleeper as an infant but, my worst night was the night I had to spend with my son in the hospital he was hooked up to all the IV's and he was so scared all he wanted was to lay with me. The child beds in the hospital have sides to them so I couldnt sleep with him. Everytime the doctors and nurses came in to give him a new treatment he screamed and cried. It was his worst night and mine. Thankfully we can give him his treatments at home now and not have to deal with the hassle of the hospital. I pray we dont have to return. :( We are expecting a new bundle of joy in November and would love to be considered for one of the lovely Miracle blankets. I like the natural beige!

My Daughter can seriously wiggle out of anything! I would love to see her wiggle out of this. This would be the best thing for her...a baby straight jacket! I can never swaddle her without her getting out, Im always so worried, Ive even woken up to the blanket over her face a few times and my heart just sinks! This would really help get me a good nights rest knowing that when we transition her to her crib I would have to worry about the blankie in her face!!!

re: Miracle Blanket Giveaway Contest

Well, I have 10 children ages 11 and under (no twins...yes, one each year....we are very blessed).  We have baby number 11 due in 3 weeks.  I guess the worst nights would be those (this does happen time to time) where they are ALL up all night almost...one thing after another...crying newborn, sick, want water, scary dream, ect... and I get NO sleep and then have to care for them all the next day :)  At least, it gives me lots of time those nights to pray and I thank the Lord for the many little blessings He's given us...I'd rather be up all night with them than not have them at all :)

If I win, I'd like the natural beige.

re: Miracle Blanket Giveaway Contest

carissa was about 7 months and she started gettin ger her first teeth. the 2 bottom ones came in at the same time. and she didnt sleep for 3 days except on my chest. and my fear of rolling over and squishing her or dropping her on the floor i didnt sleep at all. she also didnt poop for 3 days so we took her to the er and they said try a suppository but they wouldnt give me one or help me with it. i was a first time mom a didnt know what to do. then i was sitting there holding her and patting her but after squirting apple juice in her mouth cause she wasnt eating very much i even tried cup feeding her,(i was brestfeading her). and she just spit it out. after the apple juice she started to strain then she pooped for like 5 minutes. after that she was totally fine. and the dr told me she was just teething and everything else was fine, thats why moms know more about their baby than anyone else and to listen to your gut. i amt trying to get pregnant for a second time and when i had carissa they didnt have a lot of these blankets out there.

Dillon wouldn't poop.  He was about 3 weeks old and he kept clenching his butt and would NOT for the life of any of us, just let it out.  We were up for HOURS trying everything.  Cotton swab with vaseline, thermometor, bath...  The little boy just had not gotten the hang of pooping!  I even made up a song "You gotta let the poopie out, don't keep the poopie in, c'meon just let the poopie out don't keeeeep the poopie in" ha ha!!!  Eventually we had a blow out and we all got some much needed sleep :)

re: Miracle Blanket Giveaway Contest

WHERE DO I BEGIN???

This is the perfect topic for me...when my son was born January 18, 2007 he slept all the time for the first week...and then he NEVER SLEPT again!!

I was shocked-- every (stupid) baby book I ever read said that for the first 3 months you will have to TRY to keep them awake.   I was so pissed I was going to go back to the hospital and tell all the women giving birth... SOME BABIES DO NOT SLEEP!!!  My son would look at me like, "You can try and soothe me all you want mom--- I'm staying awake; I don't want to miss a thing!"  Why did this baby not want to sleep--- I LOVE SLEEP!!!!

At 16 months things are better, but I would love this givaway for #2.

Thank you for the chance to win!!!
