re: Birth Announcement Giveaway

My favorite unexpected thing so far during pregnancy has been how much this little miracle has changed my life and my husbands life for the better. Our little one won't be here until next year but we are already so much closer now knowing that we have a miracle growing inside me.

re: Birth Announcement Giveaway

my favorite unexpected thing about being pregnant is simply the fact that i am pregnant!  there are a lot of things that have happened this year that we didn't expect, but being pregnant by far has been the best.  we knew by labor day we would be married, but that all changed when duty called and we moved our wedding up to easter.  at that time we started talking about starting a family, but little did we know we had already started.  in fact, just three days before our wedding we found out that i had been carrying our first child already for 13 weeks!  it's been a roller coaster year, but being pregnant with our first child due in october has made every loop and high and low worth it.

re: Birth Announcement Giveaway

The best and most surprising thing about being pregnant so far is how overjoyed our family and friends are. Neither my husband nor I thought we wanted kids for a long time, and when we finally knew we were ready and started trying, we kept it a closely guarded secret. Our loved ones were quite surprised to find out we were having a baby and totally delighted! Several of them have said they think people like us are exactly the kind of people who *should* have children or that our child will be very lucky to have us as parents. And my MIL and FIL told us they've been walking around with silly grins on their faces ever since they got the news. They never thought they'd be grandparents, so they're positively delirious with excitement. It is almost as wonderful making all those people happy as it is to know we're bringing a new little person into our family.

My favorite unexpected thing so far during pregnancy has been how this little miracle inside me has changed our lives together.  I can't explan the feeling, but it is a feeling of excitement that never goes aways.   I wake up with a smile and end my day with a smile, knowing that one day my little miracle will change our lives forever.  I cannot wait to be a Mommy and give her the world.   She will be our everything, our sparkle in our eyes. The blessing from above!!! :)

My little miracles...

The absolute best part of being pregnant the first time was knowing that I was making the first sacrifices of many for my child.  I felt awful, ended up in the emergency room multiple times, was working as a stressed out intern, and was a first year wife, but at the end, being pregnant made me stronger, and a better mom.  During my second pregnancy I get to benefit from the hard work of the first one, and it makes everything that much easier to deal with knowing the amazing little person I'm doing it all for is someone I get to love for the rest of my life!

re: Birth Announcement Giveaway

The best thing about being pregnant is watching my body change.  My husband and I live apart during the work week and when I go home to see him he notices my belly has gotten bigger.  His reaction is undescribale.  I love it when he rubs my belly and talks to the baby.  I have read the baby can hear us.  We're looking forward to our little bundle of joy coming around the 1st of February so that we can live together everyday.

re: Birth Announcement Giveaway

The best thing is seeing my mother's happiness at becoming a grandmother for the first time. I know she will be just as thrilled when we have a 2nd child. She has been waiting a long time to become a grandma and just loves it!

re: Birth Announcement Giveaway

The best thing about being pregnant is seeing how my body is changing and growing.  I still can't believeI have a little person growing inside of me.  I think its the best thing in the world!  My husband talks to my belly all the time, saying good morning, good night and I love you to him or her.

It's amazing the feeling you have to love someone some much and you still haven't even met them!

re: Birth Announcement Giveaway

I love sharing this experience with my family and friends. It’s definitely brought my family together, as well as our parents closer because they now have a common bond of being future grandparents. This is the first grandchild on both sides, so everyone is super excited! My grandma is SO happy to be a great-grandmother; it’s given her a fresh burst of life, if that makes sense. She’s so happy! I love watching my body change too, although the weight gain has been a little hard to accept, but I love my growing belly and the super cute maternity outfits. My husband is so happy too, he’s always dreamed of being a father, and I know he’s over-the-moon. I think I’m just nervous about everything, the huge life-changing responsibility of being a mom, but my husband, family and friends make it more exciting for me everyday.

re: Birth Announcement Giveaway

The most unexpected thing about this pregnancy is that it finally happened.  I am very close to 38, we had been trying for a year and we both agreed not to do invasive testing if it didn't happen.  I had all but given up hope and then I started to feel a little nauseous!  I never thought I'd be so happy feeling this way!  And my DH is soooo excited, he loves telling people! We can't wait until March:)

I've never wanted to gain weight so much in my life!  I can't wait for my baby bump to be round and beautiful.

re: Birth Announcement Giveaway

I could never have imagined how amazing it would be to feel this tiny person squirming around in my belly. I love rubbing the little parts that stick out and telling him that I love him and can't wait to meet him. He's my little buddy!!

re: Birth Announcement Giveaway

My favorite thing about this pregnancy that I really didn't expect is feeling my daughter move every day. (I knew I would feel her move, I just didn't expect it would be my favorite part). It is so amazing to feel her squirm and stick her butt out to one side of my stomach and to be able to see it too! I can talk to her and she'll start moving around in there. I feel like I am already the nagging mom to her when I keep her awake and get her moving. I can not wait to meet her when she comes in November, but I will definitely miss feeling her move around in there and keeping her all to myself!

re: Birth Announcement Giveaway

Being pregnant was a whirlwind experience filled with so many memorable moments including growing out of clothes and visiting maternity shops with my mother.  Trying on that little belly pillow just to imagine what my clothes might look like was a humorous and frightening experience. Would I really get that big?  Sure enough, my belly did get big and I cherished every inch of what it covered.

re: Birth Announcement Giveaway

My favorite unexpected thing about pregnancy is hiow my husband has responded!  The protectiveness level has quadrupled and that twinkle in his eyes when the baby kicks his hand warms my heart more than anything in the world.  It's all so simply heartwarming to say the least.

re: Birth Announcement Giveaway

My favorite unexpected thing about being pregnant is getting to know my little one's personality through his movements within me.  My first child, Jax, was very responsive to things like his Daddy's taps on my belly, spicey foods, warm showers and cool water.  Now an active one year old, I can reminisce about the time I carried him under my heart, and knew through his tiny kicks and punches his strong temperment.  The little one I currently carry, Baby Beansprout as I call him, seems to be a very mellow little person :)  He is content to let the world go on around him.  Taps on my belly yield quiet and solitude from him, as if he's contemplating the unknown outside me.  Nor do various foods or external temperatures excite him.  He simply dreams on, as do I, anxiously awaiting the day I can finally hold my sweet mellow baby :)

re: Birth Announcement Giveaway

My favorite and unexpected part of my pregnancy was the incredible journey that I went on.  I was excited about my pregnancy from the moment hose two little lines showed up my test stick, but when I heard Emily's little heart beat for the first time, everything became more real and I was overcome with so much excitement.  A little later on when my husband and I saw our little girl on the ultrasound machine for the first time, that excitement turned into a big love.  Finally, when I heard my baby cry for the first time and I finally got to hold her in my arms I was so amazed at how quickly one could fall in love with someone they had just met, and all the pain that I had just experienced melted away.  I had no idea that my heart the capacity for such an enormous love, and it was in that moment that I realized that my journey - those many months that I spent pregnant - was not over, but rather that it was really just beginning!  And what a sweet journey it has been so far!!

re: Birth Announcement Giveaway

My favorite unexpected thing about being pregnant is the closeness that I already feel to my son growing inside me. It is something that I have craved for a long time and I finally know what it feels like to love something completely unconditionally. I would do absolutely anything for this little boy and I would give up every ounce of my comfort just for him to be happy. This is a feeling that I have only been able to feel now that I am pregnant. Now I am just in the waiting game waiting for Baby Zay to make his arrival!

re: Birth Announcement Giveaway

My favorite thing about pregnancy is feeling him move inside of me.  I never expected that such an odd sensation of flipping and flopping, kicking, punching, and rolling would fill me with such absolute joy.  The connection I feel is so overwhelming and he isn't even here yet.  He seems to even know when I am worried about his lack of movement and gives me a reassuring thump or two!

re: Birth Announcement Giveaway

It's hard to pick a favorite part of pregnancy, as I loved everything it entailed. I loved knowing I was creating a life. I loved feeling every little movement and even the painful kicks toward the end. I loved the smiles strangers gave me when they saw me and my belly heading their direction. I loved knowing I was someone's "mommy" before they were even born. I loved watching my belly grow, knowing my little boy was growing right along with me. I even loved labor and delivery--every contraction bringing me closer to meeting my son. There was no better end to an amazing pregnancy than when they put my little boy on my chest a couple weeks ago. He is truly a miracle and I just feel blessed to have had the opportunity to have given him life.

re: Birth Announcement Giveaway

The best part of this pregnancy has been 2 things.  We were TTC for about 8-9 months and we had no luck.  We would get ourselves so upset when finding out these test were all coming back negative, so we decided no more tests.  We wanted to both be surprised at the same time, and for it to be unexpected.  May 3, 2007 I went into the doctors office for me annual exam and to my surprise I was pregnant :)  It was the happiest moment of our lives, and such a surprise that we had been waiting for.  The second best part of this pregnancy has been this past weekend.  My husband has been hoping for a girl, and to his surprise on August 20, 2007 he got his wish :)  I was out of town this weekend and when I came home last night, my husband had taken it upon himself to paint the nursery, put up the border, paint and hang her name on the wall above the crib and get some stuffed animals to decorate the room with.  I couldnt have asked for a better husband and I cannot wait to have our daughter born on January 9, 2008 :)

re: Birth Announcement Giveaway

My husband is 44 (12 years older than I) and he never really thought about having children.  As a matter of fact, he did not really care to have any.  But now that I am pregnant, his heart ahas really soften, and more than anything, I want this baby more for him than I do myself.  I feel that have a child in his life, more importantly, in his heart; will bring out the man that he has always hidden.  My husband is a terrific man, but because of so many hardships in his life, he is very hard and curt.  Sometimes it is very difficult for others to see the man that I see.  But that fact that we are going to bring a child into this world has already begun to change him, and I can not wait for the baby to arrive.  It will make may husband an even better man than he already is.

My favorite thing about being pregnant so far has been feeling him move. When I'm having a bad day at work, all it takes is him wiggling around to make me smile again.

re: Birth Announcement Giveaway

The "best" (unexpected) thing about being pregnant so far is finding out how invested complete strangers are in my pregnancy. No matter where I go or what I am doing there are always people around with a comment. Sometimes the comments are good and sometimes bad but, it never fails to amaze me how people consider a pregnant woman communal property that needs to be educated about what she should/shouldn't be doing.

re: Birth Announcement Giveaway

No one tells you how much unsolicited caring you get when you are pregnant.  Sure we all hear horror stories of people touching pg ladies' bellies, but how often do you hear about all the people who ask if you need a hand putting groceries in your car?  I love how NICE people can be to you when you are pregnant.  It's actually very refreshing.

re: Birth Announcement Giveaway

Every stage in life seems to be meant to prepare you for the next.  The most amazing and unexpected thing about pregnancy to me is that while nothing could prepare me for the miracle and euphoria of this "stage,"  somehow I am prepared, my body seems to know just what to do.

re: Birth Announcement Giveaway

My favorite thing about pregnancy has been everything.  I didn't really have any expectations about what would happen.  I mean, I had an idea from all the movies I've seen, but that hasn't been my experience of pregnancy.  I love all the weird things that I'm feeling and the fact that when I describe them to my friends who have been pregnant, they have no idea what I'm talking about.  It really clarifies for me that every pregnancy is different.  Coolest/weirdest thing (other than the weird shapes my belly will take on at times) so far is the fact that I have no feeling on the top left part of my belly.  Apparently it's a circulation thing, but it's weird to have an itch and know I am scratching the right spot, but not being able to feel the scratching, thus it still itches...

re: Birth Announcement Giveaway

Everyone talks about the "miracle of life" but I really didn't truly understand how immense it was until I got pregnant.  My favorite thing about being pregnant is when my husband and I will both hold our hands on my belly and when the baby moves, we'll look at each other with these silly grins that say, "WE made that!!!"

re: Birth Announcement Giveaway

My favorite unexpected thing about my pregnancy is that our baby seemed to know when it was the right time to arrive. After a year of TTC and so many fertility problems it was just one time out of all those times I got a "PREGNANT" pop up on the HPT. All the other times I took those test I knew we needed to prepare more, but this time everything was PERFECT. It was my FAVORITE unexpected thing because I was just waiting for another "NOT PREGNANT" Goes to show you... always expect the unexpected. :-)

re: Birth Announcement Giveaway

The most unexpected thing about pregnancy, for me, was that I missed being pregnant.  Even though I had my little guys in my arms, for some reason I missed them being in my belly.

The most unexpected thing of being pregnant was that I never plan to become pregnant right now but everytime I have an ultrasound done on my Doctors visit it made me light up with joy. At first I was like okay but now I am fill with the joy of seeing my baby for the first time in my arms. This is totally expected now!

re: Birth Announcement Giveaway

My favorite unexpected thing about being pregnant is how easily I've been able to give up all my unhealthy vices like drinking and coffee, and how I strive now to eat the best things for my baby. People say a mother is a person who gives selflessly, and now I see what that means. I take better care of myself now then ever, and I hope to continue that even after the baby is here so I can be around forever to be with my child!

re: Birth Announcement Giveaway

My favorite thing about being pregnant is the way my daughter changed my life from doing drugs to being a straight edge kid. She saved me and my husband from ending up someone where we wouldn't want to be...and now 2 years down the road we are pregnant again with a another little girl and these two princess have brought our family closer than it has ever been. Being able to carry a child is wonderful! I'm glad I'm a girl!
