Weeks 21-24 (Month 5): Papaya

Posted Monday, July 09, 2007 4:59 PM

Watch what you say -- baby is now able to hear outside noise from down in the womb. Studies show that baby finds gentle music and your own voice most soothing. Nipples are starting to sprout, and that little face is fully formed. And, baby's starting to settle into sleep cycles, snoozing about 12 to 14 hours a day. It shouldn't be hard to figure out when -- just pay attention to those kicks as they start and stop

re: Weeks 21-24 (Month 5): Papaya

22 weeks is supposed to be 6 months not 5

re: Weeks 21-24 (Month 5): Papaya

karukaru - breakdowns of months and weeks differ from source to source as it clearly says on the website above.  it does not mean that the nest or their source is incorrect.

re: Weeks 21-24 (Month 5): Papaya

I'm just starting to show, but it really depends on what I wear.  I can definately hide it if I want (but I don't want!)  My little bugger moves an awful lot too!

re: Weeks 21-24 (Month 5): Papaya

I just started to feel the baby kick like one week ago, and still its not very often.  My dr. said that its normal for 1st pregnancys to feel the first kick from 20-24 weeks.

re: Weeks 21-24 (Month 5): Papaya

Once the Dr. told me that my uterus was all in front & just below my belly button, and that everything above was my guts, I realized that a lot of the bubbles I attributed to gas were actually my little boy! Just starting to show, and my belly's getting a lot firmer!

re: Weeks 21-24 (Month 5): Papaya

P.S. I feel movement the most after I eat, right when I wake up, and right before bed - best with my hand on my belly.

re: Weeks 21-24 (Month 5): Papaya

I feel baby most laying down, and while I did feel him quite early, he's only now getting strong enough for others to feel.  I'm only showing in certain clothes, so while it's really noticable to me, it's not entirely to other people.

re: Weeks 21-24 (Month 5): Papaya

Man, you all are making me feel HUGE!  I am 5' tall, and my belly is so big, everyone keeps asking if I'm having multiples!  I look like some people at 6 or 7 months.  There's definitely no hiding this baby! (not that I mind...)  I guess being so short, I had no where for his to be but outward!

re: Weeks 21-24 (Month 5): Papaya

My baby is doing riverdancing down there!  At time, I feel no movement  and played some music... the baby woke up and was active.  So that was when I knew Baby was doing good :)  My husband felt baby move and kicked on occasion and heard movements.  The baby would calm down when Daddy talks then starts to be active when he wasn't!  It was sooo funny!

re: Weeks 21-24 (Month 5): Papaya

My baby is just really starting to play soccer in my belly. I just started to feel it like 2-3 weeks ago but it keeps getting stronger hopefully soon she can kick  her daddy :) I started to show around my 4-5 month, but it really depends on what I wear to really be able to tell. But I actually like the fact that people know I am pregnant and not just gaining weight for no reason at all.. :)

re: Weeks 21-24 (Month 5): Papaya

Man, my lil Jakob is really active too. The last two days he was kicking the crap out of me. One minute, I get a kick down low, and then the next he will kick me up high.  I only really started feeling him kicking about a week ago but he has gotten active fast. My hubby felt him the other day. He was so happy.

re: Weeks 21-24 (Month 5): Papaya

I just turned 21 wks and I do not feel a lot of movement yet. I think I feel some flutters or bubbles below my belly button. At first I was not sure if it was the baby moving or not but I have been feeling it a little more, so I guess that's the baby moving. I can not feel or see any movement on the outside of my belly yet. Since my movements are not real clear yet I was starting to worry but reading some of these posts and other listings, I think it's okay. I did see the baby move on the u/s a few weeks ago I just didn't feel it.

re: Weeks 21-24 (Month 5): Papaya

I've been able to feel the baby move for a few weeks now and she's getting alot stronger. My husband felt her move about a week ago. She was extremly active for about 2 weeks then these last few days she's really calmed down I still feel her move but not as much so it really makes me wonder if there is something wrong.

re: Weeks 21-24 (Month 5): Papaya

I had no idea that papayas were that big!  I feel baby moving ALL the time.  I get kicked and poked everywhere!  I'm still getting a good nights sleep right now, so I hope this means that his sleep cycle will mesh with mine once he's born.

re: Weeks 21-24 (Month 5): Papaya

I wasn't feeling anything either, so at my last appointment my dr looked during my ultra sound and it turns out I have a "thick" placenta that is inbetween the baby and I.  I am 22 weeks and just starting to feel the flutters.

re: Weeks 21-24 (Month 5): Papaya

I'm 22 weeks and have been feeling my little one for a long time now. turns out my placenta is on the back side of my uterus. He's packing quite a punch now and my husband has even gotten to see him move. I'm showing, but to me it still just looks like chub,(tho I was never very chubby) from the front my tummy looks like a round Vee,coming to a point at my belly button  and from the side it  looks like my tummy is pouting. ;) LOL

You would not believe how big a papaya is! I love this site! My husband and I take a pic of me holding the fruit of the week to send family members. They love it. I wish there were more this month!
